Before beginning, you may need to enable a plug-in for Eudora, called "esoteric". This plug-in will be located within a folder inside the Eudora folder on your computer. It should be dragged into the main "Eudora" folder before opening the application
1. From Eudora's Tools menu, select
Options. Click Getting Started. Type your
full name in the Real Name box. Type your email address
in the Return Address box. Type mindstorm.learningtech.org
in the Mail Server (Incoming) box. Type your username in
the Login Name box (in most cases this is the first part
of your email address, before the @ sign). Type mindstorm.learningtech.org
in the SMTP Server (Outgoing) box. Click to check the box
marked Allow Authentication. Do not click OK yet.
2. Click on Checking Mail. The Mail
Server box should already be set to mindstorm.learningtech.org,
and the Login Name box should be filled in correctly. If
not, make it so. Set Check for mail every x minutes to
your liking. Under Secure Sockets when Receiving select
Required, Alternate Port. Do not click OK yet.
3. Click Sending Mail. Make sure
Allow authentication is checked. Under Secure Sockets
when Sending select Required, STARTTLS. Now you can click
OK.
Enter 587 next to the box labeled SMTP port:
5. Eudora does not accept our Root Certificate
Authority by default, so you must tell Eudora to trust the security
certificate. First, click the "Check Mail" button. The process
will fail, reporting that you have no new mail. Click OK, then go to
the Tools menu and select Options again. Click
on Checking Mail, then click the button marked "Last SSL
Info". Click on the "Certificate Information
Manager" button. Click "Add to Trusted". Click
"Done". Click OK and OK again.
